For urgent matters (payment issues, lost purchases after device swap, blocking errors) — add [NAMI · URGENT] to the subject line.
Frequently asked questions
How does pass-and-reveal work?
NAMI is a game on one device for two people. After picking pace and climate, you pass the phone to each other. The next card is hidden until someone taps "Reveal card" — that's the "now you" moment.
You can agree that one person reads cards aloud, or that each reveals their own. The app doesn't enforce order — you decide.
Does NAMI listen to me or collect my answers?
No. NAMI doesn't even have an answer field — you respond out loud, in person. The app does not use the microphone (no system permission for it).
In "Stats" you only see numbers: how many sessions, how many minutes, how many cards. Never content. See Privacy Policy.
Can I play offline?
Yes. NAMI runs fully offline after download. Exception: in-app purchases require temporary internet (Apple authorization). After purchase — fully offline again.
I'm switching phones — what happens to my purchases?
Open NAMI on the new iPhone → Settings → "Restore Purchases". Same Apple ID required.
After restoration, all decks return immediately. If something doesn't work — email mateusz@mcat.one with the order number from your Apple receipt email.
Will my data (names, never-again, stats) transfer?
Not in v1.0. iCloud sync is planned for a future version. For now: names and settings stay on a specific device.
If important — screenshot your settings before switching phones and re-enter them after migration.
A card surprised me / was uncomfortable. What do I do?
You always have 4 exits from a card:
- Skip without challenge — move on, no consequences
- Swap to challenge — light, positive task instead of a hard question
- Pause — "Every card is voluntary" screen with 4 options (back / lower climate / move to Aftercare / end the night)
- Never again — card never reappears in any of your sessions
Using these options doesn't require explanation to the other person. It's your call.
A card from Płomień / Po Zmroku is too intense for me
These decks are 18+ and contain intimate content. If you bought them unintentionally:
- During session: use "Pause → Lower temperature" — next cards will be lighter
- Post-session: in Settings, switch your preferred body filter to "No touch" or "Neutral"
- If too much: "Delete all local data" in Settings resets everything
For a refund: use Apple's mechanism ("Report a Problem" in Apple Account → History).
App crashes / lags / unresponsive
- Restart app — remove from app switcher, reopen
- Update iOS — Settings → General → Software Update
- Update NAMI — App Store → Updates
- Reinstall — uninstall, install again. Then "Restore Purchases"
- Still broken — email mateusz@mcat.one with your iPhone model + iOS version + short description
Can I gift NAMI?
Not in v1.0 — there's no native "Gift NAMI" feature. You can gift an Apple Gift Card of $19.99 and include the App Store link.
In v3.0 (Q4 2026) we plan a proper "Gift NAMI" mechanism with a physical postcard and activation code.
How do I know when there's a new version?
Enable automatic app updates on iPhone (Settings → App Store → App Updates). Changes appear in the App Store version's Patch Notes.
Can I suggest new questions / decks?
Yes, please do. Email mateusz@mcat.one with subject [NAMI · idea]. Best ideas land in future Season Drops. We can't promise individual replies, but we read all of them.
I have an invoice / VAT issue
Apple is the seller of every IAP. Invoice is available in Apple Account → Purchase History → Invoice. NAMI (Mateusz Kania) does not issue separate invoices for IAPs.
How does NAMI make money?
Apple takes 30% (or 15% for small developers) of each IAP, the rest goes to us. NAMI has no hidden fees, subscriptions, or "premium subscription" — what you buy is what you get.
Mental health and support
If using NAMI brought up difficult emotions or you're experiencing a relationship crisis — NAMI is not a therapeutic tool. We recommend reaching out to:
- Crisis Text Line (US): Text HOME to 741741 (24/7, free)
- Lifeline (US): 988 (24/7)
- Samaritans (UK): 116 123 (24/7, free)
- EU mental health support: https://mhe-sme.org/
- Couples therapy directory: https://www.psychologytoday.com (search by location)
NAMI is a game — its best use is building closeness and lightness. If something is at crisis or violence level, the tool is people, not an app.
